Healing Wednesday

I've been home sick for the past couple of days, so I really appreciate today's tip.

TIP #2 (from www.dumblittleman.com)

Get outside
. Don't let yourself be shut indoors. Go out when it's raining. Walk on the beach. Hike through the woods. Swim in a freezing lake. Bask in the sun. Play sports, or walk barefoot through grass. Pay close attention to nature.

東京にはgrassがあまりないけど。。。(笑)

When I was a university student and working at an office part time, I used to walk down to the local park on my lunch break and play in the water fountain on hot summer days! It made me feel like a little girl again. Some of co-workers used to go ice skating on their lunch breaks in the winter time too!

Healing Wednesday!

Bringing you another quote from "39 Ways to Live, and Not Merely Exist"

Today's tip is:

TIP#20

Try something new, every week. Ask yourself: "What new thing shall I try this week?" Then be sure to do it. You don't have to learn a new language in one week, but seek new experiences. Give it a try. You might decide you want to keep it in your life.

People need new events, and new experiences in their lives! Try something new. I think I know what I'm going to do next week....

Healing Wednesday!

This week's quote is from: DUMB LITTLE MAN.COM

It's from an article entitled '39 Ways to Live『生きる』 and Not Merely Exist『いる』'

I thought that a lot of the tips on this list are things that we can all do to make our lives better. So today I'm posting the following tip:

TIP#20

Slow down. Life moves along at such a rapid pace these days. It's not healthy, and it's not conducive to living. Practice doing everything slowly -- everything, from eating to walking to driving to working to reading. Enjoy what you do. Learn to move at a snail's pace.

You'll feel more relaxed, and your heart will be at peace.

Love, Oli

You Tube Tuesday! Healing Wednesday! Special Combo!

Due to technical difficulties You Tube Tuesday (yes, I changed it to Tuesday because it sounds better!) was delayed. I was going to do two separate posts for each day, but I realized that what I wanted to talk about could be done in one post.

Michael Jackson passed away on June 25th, 2009 at the age of 50. He was such a huge influence to me. I have so many musical memories attached to Michael, and each of his albums lay out like stepping stones on my life's path. I remember waiting eagerly at the front door for my father to come home from work with the the latest Michael album, looking at the artwork over and over again, feeling the grooves of the record in my hands, committing all the lyrics to memory. It was a ritual for me.

I was so shocked to hear of his passing, but if anything it helped me to remember how great an entertainer, and humanitarian he really was.

So today I've decided to post 'Man In The Mirror' in memory of Michael, AND for Healing Wednesday.

Listen to the song, watch the video and think about the lyrics please. Maybe we can all make a change somehow.

Rest in Peace Michael

First Healing Wednesday!

Hello everyone!

I'm back from Toronto, and I will tell you about my trip, but before that...

Today is July 1st! Canada Day! No wait - it's Healing Wednesday!!

As I promised last month, from now on I will be doing weekly themed posts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

I won't make this a long entry, but I wanted to give everyone a cute message to help through troubled times.

"I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind.
Some come from ahead and some come from behind.
But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see.
Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!"
~ Dr. Seuss

Be aggressive! Even though it may seem that your problems are taking over your life, don't give up. Fight them off! Get yourself a big baseball bat! I'm looking for my big bat right now. You should too.

Love Oli
